I grew up going to this park often, and Tiffany and I visited here many years ago; however, this was the first time to visit as a family of four. To top it off, my dad and stepmom (aka Papa and Yaya) came for a visit. With a two year old, we weren’t able to do any serious hiking, but we got to enjoy a beautiful October day, see the Carrick Creek Falls close to the trailhead, throw some leaves into the stream, and find a geocache. To top it off, Teagan achieved Level 2 of the Junior Ranger program. We enjoyed some barbecue at the Pumpkintown Mountain Opry after our visit.
I would love to come back in warmer weather and do some pedal boating, like I used to do as a kid. Once the kids are much older, hiking to the top of Table Rock will be in store!
